Program Purpose

The HND in Nursing is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide high-quality nursing care in a variety of healthcare settings. The program emphasizes clinical practice, patient-centered care, ethical nursing practice, and public health principles tailored to the Gambian context.

Program Objectives

  • – Develop foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and nursing sciences.
  • – Apply evidence-based practices in nursing interventions and care planning.
  • – Promote health education, disease prevention, and community health awareness.

  • – Prepare for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of The Gambia.
